About Us
| The McGrath Automotive Group was founded in 1964. Leo McGrath purchased McBride Buick in Elgin, Illinois after working with Buick Motor Division as a District Sales and Service Manager. His son, Gary McGrath, began working for him at a young age experiencing every aspect of the automotive business. In 1971 Gary purchased the Buick Franchise from Leo and a few years later opened his first Honda dealership next door. |

In 1986 American Honda approached Gary about opening the first dealership in Chicago to offer Honda’s new luxury car line, Acura. Upon accepting their offer he became only the thirteenth dealership nationwide. With the introduction of the Legend, Integra, and soon to follow NSX, Acura would prove to make
